Entry and Registration

No purchase necessary; free to enter and to play. No cost for registration. Contest open to legal residents of the United States (excluding Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands) and Canada who are 18 years of age or older as of their date of registration.

Void where prohibited by law. Contest officially begins Tuesday, December 26, 2023, 10 minutes before first race offered and ends with the last race offered on Sunday, June 16, 2024. You must make your selection at least 10 minutes before the first post time of the first ShowVivor race (seven (7) or more entries).

To enter the contest, go to https://showvivor.santaanita.com and complete the electronic registration form. The entrant may register at any time to participate in the contest. Contestants must provide first and last name, date of birth, e-mail address, address, and create a username and password.

No faxed, electronically mailed, U.S. postal service entries or phoned-in entries allowed.

Limit: One entry per person (regardless of whether one person has more than one e-mail address). Duplicate entries are cause for disqualification of all involved entries.

It is the sole responsibility of the entrant to notify Santa Anita Park if the entrant changes his/her e-mail address by calling (626) 574-6384, or emailing ambassador@santaanita.com, or by writing to: Santa Anita Park c/o Marketing P.O. Box 60014 Arcadia, CA 91066.

Santa Anita and its sponsor(s) assume no responsibility for lost, late, misdirected, illegible or mutilated entries. Santa Anita is not responsible for lost, interrupted or unavailable hardware or software or technical failures, or jumped transmission or other errors of any kind, whether human, mechanical or electronic. Once submitted, entries become the sole property of Santa Anita and will not be returned.

Eligibility

The following are ineligible to participate: officers and employees of Santa Anita Park or any members of their immediate families; trainers, jockeys and their agents; backstretch workers of horses wherever stabled or running.

How to Sign Up

There is no entry fee to participate in the ShowVivor Online Contest. To register, the entrant must complete the electronic entry form on showvivor.santaanita.com. Each entrant will get an email that verifies entry into the Santa Anita ShowVivor Online Contest within one (1) hour of completing the sign-up process. Entrants may review their selections and standings on the official ShowVivor webpage: https://showvivor.santaanita.com.

Entrants must use their ShowVivor Profile information for sign-up and daily selections in the Santa Anita ShowVivor Contest. Contestants with ShowVivor Profiles with non-functioning email addresses will be eliminated from participating in the contest.

The sign-up process for the Santa Anita ShowVivor Online Contest has five steps:

  1. ShowVivor Profile
    Enter your ShowVivor Username and ShowVivor Password in the Contest section of the ShowVivor Main Page.
  2. ShowVivor Profile Verification
    Verify the basic information in your ShowVivor Profile - Email Address, First Name, Last Name, Date of Birth and the Subscription or non-subscription to Santa Anita’s commercial email lists - and input additional information: Mailing Address, City, State/Province, ZIP and Telephone Number.
  3. Official Rules & Privacy Policy Acknowledgement
    Contestants must agree to abide by the Official Rules for the Santa Anita Showvivor Contest.
  4. ShowVivor Display Name
    Select a Santa Anita ShowVivor Display Name. This is the name that will be listed publicly on the leader board.

  5. Free Entry Participation

How to Play

Every live race day the entrant can select one horse from one race through the ShowVivor website 10 minutes before the first offered race. There are 6 different ways to win between between between December 26, 2023 through June 16, 2024:

  1. Longest Show Streak - Correctly select a horse to finish no worse than third on consecutive live race days. If the entrant's selection does not finish first, second, or third the entrant can start a new streak on the next day. If the entrant fails to make a selection, the streak is still alive, but credit will not be given for that day.
  2. Longest Win Streak - Correctly select a horse to win on consecutive live race days. If the entrant's selection does not finish first in the official final standings, a new streak can be started on the next day. If the entrant fails to make a selection, the streak is still alive, but credit will not be given for that day.
  3. Most Total Wins - Select the most winners between the dates listed above.
  4. Total Win Earnings - The entrant that has accumulated the highest total dollar amount won based on their selections between the dates of this contest. For instance, each time an entrant’s selection finishes in first place in the official standings (Wins), the dollar amount, based on Santa Anita’s official $2 Win payout, will be added to that entrant’s total dollar amount won to date. On June 16, 2024, the entrant with the highest total dollar amount won will be the winner of this category.
  5. Highest Single Win Payout  - The entrant that selects the horse with the highest $2 win payout, based on Santa Anita’s official payouts, between the dates of this contest.

Monthly Contest

Monthly Win Earnings – In addition to competing in the season long ShowVivor Contest, players automatically are entered to play in a new monthly contest "Total Monthly Win Earnings."

Prize: The winner of this contest for each date listed below, wins an entry to the next $500 Live-Money Contest at Santa Anita Park to compete for more cash and prizes.

How to Win: The entrant that has accumulated the highest monthly win earnings based on their win selections between dates listed below. For instance, each time an entrant’s selection finishes in first place in the official standings (Wins), the dollar amount, based on Santa Anita’s official $2 Win payout, will be added to that entrant’s total dollar amount won to date. At the end of each date range listed below, entrant’s earnings will be reset back to zero and a new monthly contest begins.

Note - Entrant’s win earnings will continue to accumulate for the season in the “Total Win Earnings” category. This monthly contest is for the Monthly Win Earnings category only. Players can only make one pick per day.

If the racing office at Santa Anita draws a field of seven (7) or more and scratches occur thereafter, that race is still eligible. If for any reason a six (6) horse field becomes available, by human or technical error and an entrant selects a horse in that race, that selection will be eligible.

  1. Longest Show Streak: $2,500
  2. Longest Win Streak: $1,000
  3. Most Total Wins: $500
  4. Total Win Earnings: $500
  5. Highest Single Win Payout: $500
  6. Monthly Win Earnings: Free entry to Santa Anita’s next $500 Live-Money Contest. One winner per month.

Entrants can win multiple levels.

Winning entrants of the first five prizes will be contacted 10 days after the contest ends via the e-mail they used to sign up for this contest. Winning entrants will be required to complete a Contest Affidavit and a W-9 IRS Form before receiving prize money. Winners of each “Monthly Win Earnings” will be contacted via e-mail with further details. Winners of the each “Monthly Win Earnings” receive a prize valued at $500 and cannot be redeemed or exchanged for any cash in any event.

Tiebreakers

In the event that there is a tie among the entrants on any of the six (6) categories after Sunday, June 16, 2024 the following tiebreaker will be instituted:

  1. Longest Show Streak - The first tiebreaker will be the most win selections for the duration. The second tiebreaker will be total win earnings.
  2. Longest Win Streak - The first tiebreaker will be the most win selections. The second tiebreaker will be total win earnings.
  3. Total Wins - The first tiebreaker will be total win earnings. The second tiebreaker will be the longest show streak.
  4. Total Win Earnings - The first tiebreaker will be the most win selections. The second tiebreaker will be the longest show streak.
  5. Highest Single Win Payout - The first tiebreaker will be the longest Show streak. The second tiebreaker will be the most Wins.
  6. Monthly Win Earnings - The first tiebreaker will be the Total Wins within the given month. The second tiebreaker will be longest show streak.

Scratches & Other Special Conditions

In the event an entrant's selection is a late scratch or declared a non-starter for pari-mutuel wagering purposes, the entrant will receive the actual betting favorite in that respective race.

In the event the entrant selects a horse that is part of a coupled entry or mutuel field, the entrant will receive both horses in the coupled entry in the ShowVivor contest. The entrant will only get credit for the best finisher. For example, if horse one (1) and horse one A (1 A) finish first and second respectively, the entrant will only get credit for a "Win".

In the event that the racing office draws a field of six (6) horses or less, that race will be deemed ineligible for contest purposes and the entrant will not be allowed to make a selection in that race. All eligible races to select a horse must be a field of seven (7) or more. If the racing office draws a field of seven (7) or more and scratches occur thereafter, that race is still eligible. If for any reason a six (6) horse field becomes available, by human or technical error and an entrant selects a horse in that race, that selection will be eligible.

Entrants cannot make more than one selection in any one race day. Selections are final.

Selections must be placed by the contestant only at the ShowVivor Website. The entrant is solely responsible for ensuring that his or her selection is correct. No changes will be made once deadline is passed (10 minutes before the first offered race).

In the event that the entrant did not make any selections or missed the deadline to make selections, the entrant will not be allowed to make a pick for that day. The entrants "Show Streak" and "Win Streak" is still alive, but will not get credit for that day.

In the event multiple races are cancelled in one race day, the entire contest will be cancelled for that day and no contestant will get credit. All current “Show Streaks” and “Win Streaks” will carryover to the next live racing day at Santa Anita Park.

Any unforeseen circumstance will be judged by Santa Anita Park Officials. All rulings are final.

General Conditions

The laws of the United States govern this contest. All Federal, State, provincial and local laws and regulations apply. By entering, participants release and hold harmless, Santa Anita, Select Web Ventures, their sponsors, their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, trustees, officers, employees and agents from any and all liability for any injuries, loss or damage of any kind arising from or in connecting with any prize won. Winners are subject to all State and Federal Tax Requirements.

Conduct

The official rules will be posted throughout the contest on the Santa Anita Park contest website at showvivor.santaanita.com. By entering the contest, the entrant agrees to be bound by these official rules and the decisions of Santa Anita Park, which shall be final and binding in all respects.

Santa Anita Park and its sponsors reserve the right to, at their sole discretion, disqualify any individual that: tampers or attempts to tamper with the entry process or the operation of the contest or website; violates the official rules; or acts in a disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person.

Notification

Winners will be notified by e-mail or phone within 10 business days after the date the winners are determined. Winners may be required to sign and return an affidavit of eligibility and acceptance of these official rules and a publicity/liability release (unless prohibited by law) within 30 business days following attempted notification.

By accepting any prize, the winner grants permission to Santa Anita Park use their names and/or likenesses for publicity and promotional purposes without further compensation, unless prohibited by law and agree to execute a written consent upon request.

In the event of a dispute about the identity of any entrant, entries made online will be declared made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at the time of entry. "Authorized account holder" is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization too is responsible for assigning email address for the domain associated with the submitted email address. A potential winner may be required to provide the sponsors with proof that the potential winner is the authorized account holder of the email address associated with the winning entry.

By registering for ShowVivor Online Contest, you acknowledge and agree to the 1/ST Privacy Policy.

Judging and Disputes

The management of the Los Angeles Turf Club, Inc. reserves the rights to interpret all questions and conditions in regard to this event, without claim for damages or recourse of any kind. All questions and definitions not covered explicitly in these rules will be decided by the management of the Los Angeles Turf Club, Inc., with those decisions to be final.
